Holiday, Simple Card

Quick Valentines with Distress Oxide Blending

Hello and welcome back to another blog post! Happy Galentine’s and Valentine’s Day for those of you that celebrate! I have some quick, clean and simple cards to show you that would be great for Valentine’s Day or any other card that you may need.

To watch me make these cards in detail, please watch the video below!

These cards took me 30 minutes to make total, and I think they look great! First, I took the floral frame stamp and stamped it 4 times onto bristol smooth paper and heat embossed using white embossing powder. I took a number of distress oxide inks, from pink to purple, and created 4 different combinations and cards.

After blending the inks onto bristol smooth cardstock, I used the coordinating die cuts to cut the frames out. I then used the Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die set to cut out rectangles from colored cardstock to mount the frames onto. Using VersaFine Onyx Black ink, I stamped the “sending love” sentiment onto the colored cardstocks. I used darice foam strips to mount the frames onto the panels, which added lots of dimension.

After adding the panels to my cardbases, which were made from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, I added Nuvo drops to the berries on the stamped images. That completed my cards! I hope that you enjoyed reading about these cards. Please let me know if you replicate this design!
